Of course all of us happened to have such<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/i145.photobucket.com\/albums\/r212\/ctberry_87\/Christ_Carrying_the_Cross_1580.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"280\" height=\"380\" \/> experiences in our early childhood. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">But our idiom is quite about another subject. \u201cA slap on the wrist\u201d means a very mild punishment and for its better understanding let`s bring a comparison that abound in bright images and explains this idiom:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\"><span> <\/span>\u201c<em>Jesus` death on the cross was just a slap on the wrist compared to the punishment for those who do not repent.<\/em>\u201d Although, we all know what a \u201cslap\u201d were Jesus` sufferings on the Calvary and what benefits we have out of there. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u201c<em>He was despised and forsaken of men\u2026 He was pierced through for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities\u2026 As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied; By His knowledge, the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many. And He will bear their iniquities.<\/em>\u201d (Isaiah 53:3,5,11)<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">God is abundant in love and mercy toward those who choose to follow His directions, but \u201c<em>His wrath is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them.<\/em>\u201d (Rom. 1:18-19)<\/span><\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Which of you hasn`t ever been slapped on the wrist when he made things intentionally wrong or bad?
